Risky Issues is a collection of four short stories. Each dealing with a different human emotion and situations and narrating tales of normal people, these stories touched my heart and made me feel myriad of emotions. I related to Marcie who just entered her father’s forbidden study to get paper. What was the big deal? But then her life changed when “The Secrets of the Study” were revealed! 🙂
I empathized with Pamela who got entangled in a situation she never wanted to happen in her life. The lesson she learnt is valid for all of us. Then there was Adam, a shy but a troubled boy silently praying for help except no one noticed his plea. His story will touch the readers’ hearts and definitely make us realize that there is often more to everyone than meets the eye. Lastly, there is sweet Lorraine who is best friends with her dog, Snoopy. A lasting relationship and a poignant story of loss and healing. This story became my favorite among all others in the book. 🙂
When Lorraine told me about her book and asked me to review it, I was entirely too happy to review it for her. A great writer and a very helpful person, Lorraine has already contributed to two anthologies before. I hadn’t read any of her fiction but had read her book on blogging advice so I was curious to see for myself if she was any good and I am glad to say that she truly has a talent for storytelling. The writing style is simple and elegant. The plot is nothing extraordinary but the narration makes each story unique and unforgettable.
A short book, this can be read anytime and anywhere. I light yet a touching and entertaining book, I give Risky Issues a 4 out of 5 and recommend this book to everyone. I look forward to reading more from Lorraine in the future. 🙂
I received an ARC from the author and I am very thankful to her. The above review is my honest anf unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
