Blurb/Synopsis:

Love is deceptive…

Fiery Billie Black thought she knew all she needed
to know about her own sexuality, but that was before one night of animalistic
passion with the ultra gorgeous and mysterious Jaron Rose. Tall, blond,
charming and wealthy, he was the epitome of an Alpha male.

In the morning he promised
he would call.  He didn’t.

Six months later, just as
Billie had finally managed to free herself from the memories of that night, he
arrives on the scene again. Suddenly, all the feelings that burned so intensely
are reignited and she finds herself becoming quickly entangled with her
enigmatic lover. The passion is incredible, unforgettable, unbelievable, but
Jaron Rose is not all that he seems—he wears more than one disguise…and he is
hiding a big secret.

Billie is about to find out
what that is…

Book Review

Masquerade is the first book by Georgia Le Carre that I have read and wow what a book it is!
The cover is intriguing and the blurb grabs your attention.

I haven’t read many Adult romances and when I heard about this book I was a bit apprehensive wondering if I would like it but instead I was so hooked in the story that I just could not keep it down. 🙂

Although it says that it is the standalone sequel to the Billionaire Banker series, I came to know about this fact only after I had read Masquerade and let me tell you I didn’t feel anything amiss. This novel is a standalone and no way did I feel the need to have read the Billionaire Banker series first before reading this one .

This is one story that does not let the heated intimate scenes waylay the main story. Instead the story takes you on a journey of self discovery, hidden secrets, intense emotions and finally a totally unexpected twist that floors you. I just didn’t see this twist coming.

Jaron is mysterious with great sex appeal that he knows how to use to his advantage. The bad boy streak in him and the reckless facade that he portrays makes every woman’s heart pitter- patter. His chemistry with Billie is scorching, intense and animalistic. The mystery around him when it gets solved leaves the reader astonished and appreciative of the creativity of the writer. I haven’t read any stories with this twist.

Billie thinks herself as a lesbian and so when she is attracted towards Jaron, she is very confused about her sexuality. A one night stand leaves her pining for a man who never calls and then after many months waltzes into her life as if he owns it. Infuriated with Jaron but at the same time slave to her frustrated libido, the game they play is both erotic and a defining part of the story.

Billie’s best friend and the main heroine of the Billionaire Banker series, Lana also makes an appearance in this novel along with her husband, Blake and it was interesting and heart warming to see her support to Billie and their love as friends.

The other characters also make their presence felt and sketch a lively picture in our minds.

The best thing about the book was the fluid shift from intimate scenes to the main story. The scenes change almost flawlessly and take you from feeling the intensity of love to the thrill of mystery and danger in a heartbeat and you don’t even feel the shift.

The story is well crafted and executed. This is an erotic romance but with a solid story line and some well thrown suspense and adventure.

All in all, I absolutely enjoyed reading Masquerade and liked Georgia’s writing style. 4.5 out of 5 to it and recommended to adults who love intense love stories with heated love scenes. I look forward to reading the Billionaire Banker series now and would definitely checkout any new books from Georgia in the future.

I received an ARC from the author and I am very thankful to her. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.

Excerpt:

‘First let me
tell you what you’re going to be doing tomorrow. At sharp three thirty p.m. you
will bend over this table, your elbows and hands and cheek pressed against the
glass, your ass in the air barely covered by lace and some transparent material
that rips easily. Baby doll nighties and thongs are my favorite at the moment.
What you are doing is waiting for me to come and fuck you like the little bitch
you are.’
My mouth drops
open.
‘The rims of
the thong will become soaked very quickly and you will consider using your
sweating hands to masturbate to relieve the ache, but you will not. Instead you will keep that position, nipples and cunt
tingling, and wait. The high heels you’ll be wearing—I like black— will make
your calves cramp, but you will ignore it.’
My pussy
clenches like a boxers fists, but I pretend to snort.
He ignores it.
‘At four I will turn up. You will not turn around to look at me or speak to me.
No matter how wide your legs are I will have to correct the position by kicking
apart your legs and flipping the last bit of covering over your back, so your
ass is totally exposed to me. I will roughly rub your panties, find the jellied
part, and dig my fingers into it. You will immediately raise your hips higher
to try to catch more of my flesh, and moan the way you would if you were
begging for it.
‘I’ll tell you
to be quiet. That you are not to make a sound until I allow it. I will flick
your clit through the material and your body will start bucking and squirming.
At that moment I will swat you on the fleshiest part of your buttocks just
once, but hard. My fingers might strike your clit. It will make your head spin
and you are bound to cry out from the surprise. But if you do I will spank you
again. Just to hear you cry out and see the blush spread. And again, until you
are panting and dripping onto my hand. Excitement, shame, joy, desire.
‘Then I will
back off, make myself a cup of tea and drink it while I stare at your reddened
ass, ripe for the picking. Once I have had my tea I will undress. Slowly. You
will strain to hear buttons, material scraping my skin, shoes sliding away,
socks pulling, zip tearing. I will grasp the reddened, burning skin in my palms
and feel its weight in my bare hands.’
I try not to
show it but his dick is slowly growing inside me and I am starting to want him
to fuck me all over again.
‘Then I will
pull the warm red cheeks apart and holding them apart with one hand I will
slide my finger into you, first one, then two and eventually three—the way you
like it, the way I did the first night we met. You will moan, and shiver and
maybe even grunt like an animal. Your head will start to lift off the table—you
are about to come. That is the moment I’ll stop and will ask you to touch
yourself. You will take your hand off the table and press it between your legs,
turning your head to look at me while starting to masturbate.
‘“Do you want
my cock in your pussy?” I will ask. “Yes,” you will whisper. I will ask you
again. “Yes, yes,” you will plead.
‘And that is
when I will ram so hard into you, you will shudder and scream and arch and
quiver and come in a screaming rush.’

‘I won’t be in
at three thirty p.m. or four p.m. tomorrow,’ I say coldly.

Georgia
Le Carre
lives in England, in an old 19th century romantic cottage surrounded
by a magical garden filled with fruit and walnut trees.
When she is not feeding words into her laptop, she is either curled up
in bed with a box of chocolates and a good read, or lost in a long walk in the
woods. Especially on moonlit nights.  And
often with the man of her dreams.

Author Interview
I was very fortunate to interview Georgia Le Carre and get a sneak peak into her writer mind and writing style. 🙂

Here goes the Interview.

Welcome to Njkinny’s World of Books & Stuff, Georgia!

I am so happy to have you on my blog. 🙂
Let’s start the interview.

Q1. In one sentence,
what is your book about?
I’ll give it to you in one word.  LOVE. 🙂

Q2. What inspired you to write this book?
It was the natural progression of The Billionaire Banker series.

Q3. How did you get your first break as an
author?
I’m still waiting for my first break. 🙂

Q4. Your book has strong sex scenes. How do
you go about writing intimate scenes? Are they difficult to write?
The same as I would write any other scene I
guess. I imagine a scene and start tapping away at my keyboard. No, they are
not difficult to write. If they were, I wouldn’t do it. LOL

Q5. What has been the biggest surprise or
learning experience you’ve seen through the process of seeing your book(s) get
published?
That there are SO many women who would go
out of their way to help you. I didn’t expect that and I am still, until today,
surprised by it every time I encounter it.

Q6. What are you doing to reach out to
readers and book enthusiasts?
Facebook. I am on Twitter (not often, but I
have some sort of presence I guess…). I advertise on GR. I contact blogs for
reviews. And that I guess is the main bulk of my marketing efforts.

Q7. What is the one thing that you hope
readers take away after reading your book?
I write to entertain and if they have been
entertained then I have done what I set out to do and I am happy.

Q8. What do your friends and family have to
say about your books? Do they beta read your work?
I do not have beta readers. My sister has
been known to read my books after they have been edited and proofread.

Q9. If someone were to tell you one thing
before you started writing, what do you wish it had been?
I thought about this one and decided there
is nothing to tell. It is just a journey. And it has been fun and enlightening.
The good and the bad have their own value.

Q10. What is your overall impression of the
writing industry? Any advice you would like to give to the aspiring authors?
The writing industry is going through a
massive upheaval at the moment, lead by Amazon and its secretive algorithm mix.
In six months to a year’s time the industry will be unrecognisable, for us
authors anyway.
As for advice, there is already a lot,
maybe too much on the net for aspiring authors, the only thing I will add to it
is: I don’t know what will happen in 6 months time but if you are planning to
publish in the near future get on Kindle Unlimited. The sooner the better.

Q11. What are the ten things people don’t
know about you?
  1. I let my dog jump on the bed.
  2. I make great liver treats for dogs.
  3. My favourite colour is pink
  4. My heroes are all whistle blowers and people
who break the conspiracy of corruption.
  5. I love watching Homeland
  6. When I was child I found a giant turtle
washed up on a beach and sat on it.
  7. I’ve ruined my phone by spilling whiskey on
    it
  8. I’m trying to lose 20 pounds
  9. I am very, very shy and reserved
  10. I suck at social media.

Q12. What’s next up for you, writing-wise?
I am writing Disfigured Love. A story about
a tortured man who in a moment of loneliness and weakness buys a girl from the
dark net.

Thanks for talking to me, Georgia. All the very best and I hope I get to read more from you in the future. 🙂
