My Review:

Dora Conroy is from a family of actors and owns an antique shop. She rents her adjacent flat above her shop to Captain Jed Skimmerhorn. Sparks fly at the first glance but Jed is haunted by demons of his past and running from feelings he doesnt want to feel, he is determined to keep his distance from the fiery and all too sexy, Dora.
Dora, on the other hand, believes in going with her feelings and has an expressive heart.
What will happen when these two come face to face?

Add a dangerous, psychotic villain and some super valuable antiques which are misplaced and land with the heroin to the mix and you get a thrilling, chilling and super entertaining book called Hidden Riches!

I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to identifying art and usually shy away from books that talk too much about antiques or the usual jargon about art. But in Hidden Riches, I was so surprised and mighty pleased to see that I didn’t get bored with all the talk about art and heartily enjoyed the book.

The plot is meticulously conceived and tightly executed with no loopholes in the story. The story is admirably narrated with just the right amount of each emotion and the pace adjusted as per the requirements of the narration.

I enjoyed and loved the characters in this book whether it be the protagonists, Dora and Jed or Dora’s family or Jed’s grandmother or be it the friends that they have. Very normal, next-door people who we can instantly connect with and feel like we know them already, I laughed, cried, felt cared for and after by them.

Nora gives a yet another book with a great story, amazing characters, well plotted out villains who leave a lingering fear even after they are defeated and a romance that will curl your toes, I have very little to complain about here except the fact that I felt that the villain made too clumsy a mistake at the end which just does not match with his character. But this I can easily overlook because of all the entertainment I had while reading the book.

A great story that will hook you and keep you at the edge of your seat in fear and anticipation but will also warm you with its homeliness and a sensuous romance, I give Hidden Riches a full 5 on 5 and recommend it to everyone. Totally deserving of the RITA Award by Romance Writers of America for Best Romantic Suspense (1995), this is a book everyone who loves romantic suspense should read.
