Call to Honor by Tawny Weber is the first book by the author that I have read and it certainly wont be the last!
“The Poseidon team are hard-bodied, fiercely competitive Navy SEALs. But when a sensitive mission goes disastrously wrong, three of the team’s finest will have to trust their hearts and instincts to uncover the truth… “
The above lines of the blurb and the author’s name that I had always heard in high praise are the reasons I stopped to check out the book because frankly I just didn’t like the cover. After reading the book, it just seems lacking and fails in giving the right impression of the book. The story is so much more than the erotic depiction on the cover. It is emotional, suspenseful, has a swoon worthy romance and realistically portrays the relationship struggles of lovers, parents and friends through the characters in this book.
The title and blurb are well done and apart from the author’s already established following, it is this combination that will attract new readers towards this book.
The story follows Navy SEAL, Diego Torres who is given the task of gathering information from single mom, Harper Mclean when a mission goes awry and her ex-husband is suspected of leaking secret information to the enemy. Harper has been running from her ex ever since she understood the lengths to which he would go to take away her son.
Now safe in the knowledge that her ex doesn’t know her whereabouts, she is both intrigued and attracted towards the brooding and smoking hot new neighbour who seems to have easily connected with her son.
Tawny Weber’s narration style is fluid, vivid and easily sucks the readers in the story. I sat at the edge of my seat throughout the book and could not put the book down until I had finished it. She gives us an engaging story with well played out twists and turns, a thrilling suspense with plenty of danger and a sense of urgency to solve the mystery and a romance that is intense, sexy and super hot!

The characters are people I connected to easily and felt I knew them. I loved Harper and Diego and am eager to read Andi’s story.
The only problem I faced while reading the book was remembering the names of the members of The Poseidon Team which confused me initially but after a while I could connect a name with a character.
All in all, Call to Honor is intense, suspenseful romance that is a through and through entertainer that I enjoyed reading and recommend to all adult readers. 4 stars out of 5 to it from me and I look forward to reading more books from Tawny Weber in the future.
I received an ARC from the author, the publishers and the tour organizers via Netgalley and I am very thankful to them. The above is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
