Book Review:
I love books by Sherryl Woods and so when I heard about her upcoming book, I knew I just had to read it. Willow Brook Road is the story of Carrie Winters, the eldest great grand daughter of the O’ Briens clan. I read Carrie’s twin’s story in The Christmas Bouquet and it was here that I first met Carrie. She came out as a total fashionista living in Paris working among the glitz and glamour of the fashion world, far far away from the quiet and simple life in Chesapeake Shores but in this book, she is back home and seemingly lost, trying to find new meaning to her life. The O’ Briens family is their usual busy body yet loving and caring self and one or the other member is always present to nudge Carrie in a direction in life that they think is the best for her!
Except Carrie has her own plans and even the sudden sparks flying between her and the new arrival in town, Sam, can deter her. Will Carrie be able to recreate her dream life? Is Sam the man she has always been looking out for?
The cover is beautiful and eye catching and goes beautifully along the trend that Sherryl’s books follow of having homely and scenic covers. The blurb is interesting and instantly peeks our interest.
I love reading about the O’Briens family. They are boisterous, hopeless romantics, frustrating, busy bodies and yet always there for each other. It was lovely meeting the entire clan again and also meeting Noah and Caitlin again.

Sherryl’s writing style is her usual engaging self and she was able to engross me in the story. I had been intrigued by Carrie’s character when I read The Christmas Bouquet and loved reading more about her in this one. She came as a self centered and snobbish character in the previous book but here I truly got to understand her. She is sweet, loyal, loving and craves a family of her own.
Her romance with Sam is slow, heartfelt and has a small kid at the center. Carrie’s love for children brings them together and I was happy when they fought and overcame all their fears and doubts to have a happily-ever-after.
I loved Sam’s nephew and adored his childish talks. Also Cait’s baby, Jackson is just so sweet and had me smiling as I visualized his adorable face and antics in my mind.
The scenes, scenarios and the relationship study is amazing in this book and really gave me an insight into people. Going back to the laid back, beautiful and peaceful town of Chesapeake Shores really relaxed me and I wish I can someday go visit the place in reality.
Despite being part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone which is pretty much true for the other books in this series too.
All in all, Willow Brook Road by Sherryl Woods is an entertaining romance with a sweet and interfering family thrown in the mix. I really enjoyed reading the book and give it 4 out of 5 and recommend it to all romance lovers.
I received and ARC from the publishers, Harlequin Mira via NetGalley and I am very thankful to them. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
