“Addison Cole is the sweet alter ego of New York Times and USA Today bestselling and award-winning author Melissa Foster. ” As soon as I read this statement in the book blurb of Read, Write, Love at Seaside, I knew I had to read this book because believe it or not I like my romances sweet with plenty of heart in them. Also the title had me intrigued already with the very gorgeous cover making me stop to checkout the blurb.
Read, Write, Love at Seaside by Addison Cole has oodles of sweetness and a big dose of heartfelt emotions in it with enough teasing and entertainment to keep a reader’s interest. Here we meet Kurt Remington, a bestselling author of thrillers who lives to write and who believes in having order in everything in his life. Leanna Bray is a free spirited woman who is as disorganised as Kurt is organised in his daily life. But right from the first meeting they click. But each is staying in this small town of Cape Cod just for the Summer. Can their connection withstand the test of time and their insecurities?
As you know, I enjoy Melissa Foster’s stories but with her sweet alter ego, Addison Cole she has gone several steps ahead in endearing herself to me. I absolutely loved this book where there is no harsh language, no explicit intimate scenes and still just the right amount of teasing glimpses to give the story the push that authors take when including sexual scenes in them. I loved how the author proves that she is capable of writing both steamy and sweet stories with equal ease.
The plot is beautifully conceived and executed. The pace is maintained and I stayed glued till the very end. The character development is the highlight of this story. I loved the contrast between Kurt and Leanna’s characters with their poles apart personalities and yet the similarity in their basic nature. The romance is exciting, heartwarming and the chemistry sensual. It is adorable how these two complement each other and I got some serious relationship goals from them.
Leanna’s friends are a fun group and I am eagerly waiting to read their own stories. It was such a pleasant feeling to meet the various crossover characters from some of the previous books that I have read by Melissa Foster.
All in all, Read, Write, Love at Seaside by Addison Cole is a perfect beach read with wholesome chemistry without any explicit intimate scenes, heartwarming romance, many memorable moments, a crisp story that takes us on a rich emotional journey and a friendships that make us want to go catch up with our friends. A story that connected with many of my own insecurities and then inspired me to go take risks, I loved each second spent reading this book and give Read, Write, Love at Seaside by Addison Cole 4.5 stars out of 5. Recommended to romance fiction lovers, I hope to read lots more from the author and wish her the very best.
I received an ARC from the author and I am very thankful to her. The above is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
