A hungry person is an unhappy one. Often we have noticed this. If we are hungry then nothing interests us and nothing brings happiness to us. Out of the many good deeds that we can do, to feed a hungry person and that too, a child beats everything else.
Blogadda in association with Akshaya Patra have brought a golden opportunity to us, Bloggers, to write a post about how we can eliminate classroom hunger and bring a smile to a child’s face and in turn, they will feed a hungry child for a whole year! Now this is something that all of us can do. Often we claim to be too busy to go out and actually do something for all those children who don’t even get one proper meal a day but we can always do some small effort from our side to bring to these children food as well as a future in their lives. When such children will have their bellies full of food only then will they be able to give efforts to learn and study to have a bright future for themselves.
The mid-day meal started by the Government was such an endeavor to lure more and more children to school even if they came just for the food! Atleast along with eating a proper meal, they would learn something too. Parents of such children who are too poor to educate them often times feel that they should work so that more income can be earned, eventually robbing them of proper education. Similarly, we can also help such children by taking a pledge of contribution to any langars or food distribution events happening near us. In a country like ours, we see such events happening all the time either weekly or bi weekly in temples, gurudwaras or by societies in their own areas. By contributing to such events we can help feed more and more hungry children.
Also events like Birthdays, Anniversaries and festivals can be easily used to take out time and celebrate these special days by bringing a smile to the faces of hungry children by feeding them. This way not only will we get their blessings but only have the satisfaction and memory of doing good. 🙂
We can also support non profit organizations like Akshaya Patra, a non-profit organization which aims to help fight hunger and malnutrition in children. Donate to this organization which is helping children all over the country by feeding them and helping them get educated. Learn more about it here: http://www.akshayapatra.org/
