Book Review:
Katie Price is stuck in a limbo after her father’s death. Unable to write anything, she is on the verge of losing her writing contract. Taking a chance and caught in a time frame that is fast approaching closure, she decides to randomly choose a place and travel there to find a story.
Bishopville, a small town in nowhere is her destination and it is here that she meets Kyle, an enigmatic young man who speaks little but still intrigues her with his mysterious aura and his curious relationship with the 32 dogs that he trains.
Is there a story here that she can write?
Can she crack the mystery of the unusual dogs that look like wolves and their equally enigmatic master who shows her around but still makes her feel like he doesn’t want her here?
Hope In Every Raindrop attracted me when I read the blurb. Instinctively I knew that this would be a different story and a unique experience. And I am so glad to say that all this is true!
I loved every bit of this book. The cover is nice and had me reliving the soothing feeling of rain and vast open lands away from the chaos and crowd of the city.
This is the first book by the author that I have read and I am so happy that I read his work. I loved his emotionally charged writing style that kept me hooked to the book right till the end. I could not leave the book and finished it in one sitting.
The plot is expertly conceived and executed. I could appreciate all the hardwork and research that the author must have done to bring forth a story that feels so real. The whole insight into the behaviour of dogs, their relationships with humans, names of new flowers and the human psychology had me feeling more enlightened to new facts. A story, in my opinion, is one that not only entertains but also teaches good and new things to the readers. Hope In Every Raindrop fits this criteria beautifully. It not only entertained me but also taught me things that I know will prove useful.

The story moves a bit slow initially but then alters its rhythm to match the developments in the story. I could visualize each and every scene and feel the calm of open country with no pollution, the joy of watching Kyle playing with the dogs, the anticipation of writing a story along side Katie as new thoughts flowed in her mind etc. The romance is clean and more emphasized on emotions than going physical which is a good thing and makes this book different from the other romances.
The characterization is admirably done and I loved Katie, Kyle, Doc and the dogs, especially King. The sweet store owner husband-wife duo were also endearing and I felt like I knew them already. Doc is mature, learned and kind. His character made me feel like I was visiting my own grandfather. Kyle looked a bit young to me in the beginning but then the author threw me and absolutely impressed me with how he developed Kyle’s character in the story. Katie is sweet, independent and stubborn. She knows what she wants and doesn’t back down from a challenge. I loved her grit and her strength to endure all kinds of challenges that Kyle threw her way. The chemistry between Kyle and Katie slowly simmers and then develops into a beautiful bond of love. While the human characters are great, the main characters in this story are the dogs.
I absolutely adored King and would love to adopt him myself. His strength, intelligence and the bond that he shared with Kyle had me feeling both awed and then sighing with love watching these two together. I could visualize him running in the rain, dodging the lightening, sitting regally and watching with intelligent eyes.
“Standing in front of her was a large black dog. It wasn’t just any black dog, though.
Its front legs were lean and narrow. Its chest broad, and its eyes fixed on Katie.
It was King.”
The other dogs like Biscuit, Belle and the pups also made a place in my heart and now I am itching to adopt a dog!
All in all, Hope In Every Raindrop is a stellar book that had me entertained throughout. I laughed, cried, fell in love and then felt satisfied because there was always hope! Wesley Banks’ emotionally laden story made me remember the feelings I feel when reading a Nicholas Sparks book. This not just a simple romance but so much more. 4.5 out of 5 to it and strongly recommended to all readers. Wesley Banks is a talented writer and I am going to checkout his books in the future too.
I received the book from the author and the tour organizers and I am very thankful to them. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.

Some memorable quotes:
1) “Let the rain add to our tears
Until the day when pain has stopped
And we will say there was hope in every raindrop.”
2) “There is hope all around us-in every breath, in every raindrop.”
3) “In her room at the prow of the house
Where light breaks,
and the windows are tossed with linden,
My daughter is writing a story…”
4) “There has to be hope. Not because it already exists within you, but because it must exist, period. There is no option to lay down because you’re feeling hurt. There is no alternative. It is not live or die. It is live or live. Not because you want it that way, or because you’ve willed it that way. But because it must be that way.”
5) “There are stories all around you if you only take the time to look.”
