Book Review:
Healthy seniors are mysteriously dying in nursing homes and Detective Noelle is determined to solve this mystery even if she isn’t supposed to work on homicide cases. She draws her partner Duncan Cavanaugh into her rogue investigation even if she doesn’t like his notorious player reputation. While the feeling of dislike is mutual, what these two are not ready for is the reluctant attraction they start feeling for each other.
Cavanaugh Strong by Marie Ferrarella is the first book by the author that I have read and I enjoyed Marie’s writing style. Despite being twenty eighth book in the Cavanaugh Justice series, this one is a standalone story.
The plot is engaging and beautifully executed. I enjoy reading romantic suspense and was not disappointed by this book.
Marie’s writing style is both expressive and engaging. She was able to create a picture in my mind and hold me engrossed in the story throughout.
The scene settings are meticulously set and the characterization is realistic. I like both Noelle and Duncan and the chemistry between them was also very beautifully developed. The suspense part did take a back seat for a while but still it soon came back on track and the interest factor remained maintained.
All in all, Cavanaugh Strong by Marie Ferrarella is an entertaining romantic suspense that held my interest right till the end. 4 out of 5 to it and recommended to all lovers of romantic suspense. I will be checking out the other books by the author and in this series in the future.
I received the book from the publishers via Netgalley and I am very thankful to them. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
