Book Review:

Tempted by the Billionaire Tycoon by Jennifer St George is the first book by the author that I have read. I got attracted towards it because of the blurb which is interesting and had me intrigued.

This is the story of Poppy, a woman with a past and a whole lot of baggage that force her to keep secrets and be wary of trusting and getting close to anyone. Poppy is the manager of a luxury resort  where some mysterious accidents are happening.

Nic owns the resort and is determined to get to the bottom of the issue and the first thing he wants done is Poppy dismissed! But when he arrives at the resort under a disguise, he soon discovers that Poppy is not at fault.
Sparks fly but amidst all this, there is also someone hell bent on destroying the reputation of his resort.
Can Poppy and Nic catch the culprit and sort out their feelings for each other?

The plot is promising and I enjoyed the story but still at places it felt like the story was not developing as much as it should have. The characters were good and despite the author telling us that they were attracted towards each other, I felt not showing of their romance from the characters themselves. Their feelings and emotions just didn’t get developed and I didn’t feel connected.

Also Nic’s past felt half cooked. He kept hinting at it and I wanted to see some action there but nothing happened.

Poppy’s past is better handled and I felt satisfied here. She is a strong character and I liked her. Nic’s character had so much potential but he somewhat fell flat.

The suspense of the attacks is handled well and though I guessed the culprit beforehand, I enjoyed watching the protagonists face him. While I enjoyed the climax, I didnt understand the culprit’s motivation behind the attack. How would these attacks bring back the person he wanted with him?
Where had that person gone and why?
These were some of the questions I wanted answered better.

All in all, Tempted by the Billionaire Tycoon by Jennifer St George is a light story that you can give a try. It had so much potential but fell shy of achieving its full scope. 3.5 out of 5 to it and recommended to all romance lovers with a hint of suspense.

I received the book from the publishers via Netgalley and I am very thankful to them. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in  no way influenced.
