Book Review:
Winning the Billionaire by JM Stewart is the first book by the author that I have read and I got attracted towards it because of the blurb which promised an intense and exciting romance with an alpha Billionaire and a strong heroine.
The plot is straight forward and I knew what would happen but still the author has executed the story admirably and I was held captive throughout. The writing style is fluid and the narration realistic.
I enjoyed the story but still all through I kept thinking that the characters and the emotions could have been developed more and given a depth that was missing in this book.
The hero and heroine have been friends since childhood but stayed away due to their own reasons, all the while loving each other from afar. When they come close, they resist each other but then succumb to their attraction. Now this promised a deep, emotionally charged and passionate romance but sadly didn’t deliver. The scenes and scenarios flew by in a seemingly shallow and hurried fashion.
While I did empathize with the emotional play, the situations and the closure seemed hurried and lacked the punch that it could have had. There are multiple intimate scenes which seemed a bit excess and could have been curtailed to give more space to more story development.
All in all, I enjoyed reading Winning the Billionaire by JM Stewart but felt the story could have been more intense and the characters given more depth. 3.5 out of 5 to it from me and recommended to all adult lovers of Billionaire romance.
I received the book from the publishers through Netgalley and I am very thankful to them. The above is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
