Question of the Week: How important is good writing to you? In an ideal world, a book would be beautifully written AND have great character development, plot, etc. But in the real world, which do you prefer: (1) Great characters and plot with lousy writing or (2) Middling character development and plot but gorgeous writing
When I take up a book to read the first thing I see is the plot. No book can be good without an engaging plot and characters that connect with you. Writing automatically becomes good if the story has the power to interest the reader. Only good writing with lousy story and badly developed characters just doesn’t do the trick. I have read so many books that sucked at the plot and character development and then there were stories that didn’t have many Barron’s English words but the stories were so interesting that these books have stayed with me till date.
