Dear Book lovers,
I had such great fun attending the New Delhi World Book Fair 2015 yesterday. It was like I had landed in paradise with books all around. 🙂
Today is the last day for the event which is being held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, India. I was so excited and had planned on surprising some of my beloved authors who I knew were going to be there from 3 pm yesterday but unfortunately I got late and missed meeting the author by a whisker. I was sad since I had taken along all my books to get autographed but to look at the brought side, I did get to witness the other author events and watch other people loving the books, I had already read and loved! 🙂
Books from all over the world were showcased and I think events like this are a great way to get to know books from other countries and also expand your knowledge base.
Now Pragati Maidan is huge and if you are planning on going today then wear your most comfortable shoes because you will have to walk and walk. There are big halls with numerous publisher stalls in each so one day is not enough to visit every stall. I, too, was unable to visit every stall and had planned to go again today but unfortunately, am unable to do so.
Here are a few highlights from my tour yesterday.
This M &B corner had books by some of my loved authors like Reet Singh, Adite Banerjie, Swati Sharma, Susan Meier, Chantelle Shaw, Carole Mortimer, Maya Banks etc.
It was great to see that some of my favourite books like books by Agatha Christie were featured in Hindi at the Book Fair.
Lovely Poirot cover featured outside the Harper Collins stall.
This is me checking out books. I found some of my old favourites featured and found some new books here.
Malala, Iron Man and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo were outside the Hachette India stall. 🙂
My childhood favourites like Famous Five and Noddy were also here!
Nichols Sparks, Aryavarta Chronicles and silkworm featured outside the Hachette India stall.
Evergreen Diamond Books disappointed me a little. I had hoped to find a varied collection of Chacha Chaudhary, Pinky, Billoo here but found a meager collection instead pushed at a dejected corner. 🙁
I was thrilled to see my hildhood heroes and heroines from Raj comics having a separate seat at the Book Fair. Grabbed some collector’s editions of some of my favourite comics. 🙂
Old and evergreen Raj comics characters.
Grabbed these beauties and eager to start on them. I was lucky to grab a signed copy of Breach. 🙂
Some new finds that I am eager to read. 🙂
My favourite comics characters were happy to come along with me. 🙂
Grabbed the collector’s edition for these.
I had so much fun perusing books and cant wait for the Book Fair next year! 🙂

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It’s all about sharing books you’ve added to your shelves be it physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books got from author or publishers, gifts, and of course eBooks.

That looks like so much fun! I know that people in other countries get jealous of those of us in the US because of all the events we have so it's nice to see there are some elsewhere. It looks like it was a pretty big one too! Thanks so much for sharing with us!
