Kobi is a highly skilled crossbreed who is half human and half wolf. Created by Dheeraj Verma in 1993 and published by Raj Comics, Kobi gained instant popularity due to his strong back story, adventurous present stories and his thrilling fights.

The back story goes like this. More than 50,000 years ago, there was a kingdom called Wolfano in which lived a highly evolved breed of Wolves who were powerful warriors and walked upright. The king took fancy to a human Princess and tricked her into matrimony and had a son called Kobi. But the Princess eventually sees through the tricks and leaves the King to marry another human King who destroys the Wolfano kingdom. The Wolfano King and Kobi are, however, saved by the priest of Wolfano. When Kobi comes of age, the King and his son go to claim the Princess who in anger curses Kobi and turns him into a gold statue.

Fifty thousand years later the curse is lifted and Kobi finds himself in a jungle in Assam. He starts his new life with the name “Bheriya”. Bheriya is a towering figure with howling mane, twisting tail and glowing eyes. He protects his native forest with a passion, and the natives worshiped him as their wolf God. And he is also called as “jungle ka jallad”.

Later animal Kobi was separated into two different personalities. One, Kobi who came to be the wolf part and Bheriya who was the human part. Being separated from his wolf part, Bheriya was left as a highly skilled human.

This above cover told the story of the separation and was so popular that comics lovers still remember this comics when asked about Kobi.

I loved the fiercesome warrior who fights to protect and save people. He is a protector who looks like a beast but is still very humane.
